Are you wanting to be closer to your family?
To relocate to a different city or state, here are some things you need to consider:
1. Do some research on the city 0r State you want to relocate to. Have you considered the cost of living, what type of housing you want to live in, the job market and the climate? Also, how close you would like to be to your job and amenities?
2. Contact me as your Real Estate agent before you decide to visit. That way we can determine what type of property will best fit your needs and take a look at a few when you do come to visit, so you will have an idea of what is available and in the location of your choice. If you are unable to visit within your time frame, we can certainly do a video chat of the properties that best fit your needs.
3. If you need to find a job, already have one, or looking to retire. If you already have a job lined up in your new location…great!! If you don’t have a job lined up, start looking for one. You can start your job search online, through job boards or company websites. Consider networking as well, which can
be done online or through in-person events. If you are looking to retire here…wonderful! There are plenty of things to do here in the Iowa City area!
4. Moving: Once you’ve got everything in place, you can start planning for
moving day. Consider hiring a professional moving company or renting a truck and doing it yourself.
5. Notify organizations: Notify any organizations or individuals of your
change of address such as banks, credit card companies, and the government.
